PostHeaderIcon material for a masquerade mask?

i need to make a mask for myself for a masquerade. i really can’t plaster my own face and i’m going with a steampunk look, already have an idea for it. what would work best? i was thinking clay rolled out really thin to conform. i can’t go with the premade plastic ones, they don’t fit properly. it needs to be lightweight, sturdy and thin.

other option, use playdoh to make a mold of my face (prolly need 2 cans for that) then prolly more still do make a positive mold of my face so i can form the mask that way with paper clay. think that would work?

PostHeaderIcon How can I make this poem better?

I have to write a three object poem for english.
Can you help me make it sound better?
Thanks.
Here it is:

The play-doh sits upon my desk,
It is very purple compared to the tan desk
I mold the play-doh into many shapes,
None of them turning out right
The desk squeaks as i shift to stare at the clock,
It’s very silent, and i can hear the clock’s slow tick-tock
I turn my attention back to the purple lump,
and try to mold it into a shape
I achieve my goal as the bell rings
Gina reaches for the heart-shaped playdoh and squishes it.
Here is the revised version:

The play-doh sits upon my desk,
It is very purple compared to the tan
I mold the play-doh into many shapes,
None of them turning out right
The desk squeaks as I shift to stare at the clock,
It’s very silent, and I can hear the slow tick-tock
I turn my attention back to the purple lump,
and try to mold it into something besides this large lump
I achieve my goal as the bell rings
Gina reaches for the heart-shaped play-doh and squishes it.
on the revised version it should be:

I turn my attention back to the purple lump,
and try to mold it into something besides this large bump

thanks.

PostHeaderIcon How do you make a cast of your hand?

does any one know of an inexpensive way to make a cast of a hand. I want to do this as an art project with a few kids. I would like to get alot of detail in the hands , and have them be 3-D. I’ve looked at molds but there about -10 a pop, and I may be doing about 10.

I’ve read about playdoh molds, and using plaster tape.(Can/How do you make 3D mold with playdoh)

Has any one done these before and if you have did they turn out. Do you have suggestions on smaller children.
