PostHeaderIcon Does anyone know a good playdough recipe?

I tried making play dough today with my 2 toddlers with a recipe that I found online it was cream of tartar, flour, salt, and warm water, and food coloring stirred over medium heat. However, when I tried it, it didn’t turn out right, it was way too sticky. Does anyone know of a good recipe for it?

PostHeaderIcon Is this play doh recipe inedible or toxic in any way?

My son is 2 and still eats crayons~ (yes I buy non-toxic and I supervise) so I thought I would ask before handing the stuff over to my kids.

2 cups flour
1 cup salt
2 1/2 teaspoons cream of tarter
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups water

*medium heat, stir consistently
+food coloring

I have been finding that there are edilble and inedible play doh mixtures..
I would rather that they didn’t eat it and wouldn’t make one meant to be eaten (at least not at this age where they have difficulty understanding the difference).. but if my son happens to eat some of it .. is that bad?

I am confused what makes some of them inedible seeing how they are all made of cooking ingredients. or is it just a matter of taste rather than being actually *inedible?*

thanks in advance!
Please note I ask this question because this recipe is marked as inedible. ~

I wondered what makes it inedible being these are ffod items.

PostHeaderIcon How do you make your own food coloring?

I’m using food coloring to make homemade play-doh for a project but sadly I ran out of food coloring and my mom is too lazy to get some. How can I make the following colors: brown, blue, and green? If I use cocoa power for the brown food coloring, would it work??

PostHeaderIcon how do you make a awesome cool that will blow you away volcano?

I have a science project due. I want to learn how to make a volcano without using vinegar and baking soda only red food coloring. I want something that won’t erupt a lot and make a very big mess. I want something that looks proffesional and some fake grass on the bottom. I don’t want to use playdough or any of that s***. I was planning on making it with clay and then painting it. Please can you put it step by step!!!!!!!!
*BIG hugs*

PostHeaderIcon Any good playdoh making recipes?

I’m making a model heart with my friend for this contest thing, the only thing we could think of was making it out of playdoh 😛 . We don’t want to spend any money so are there any good playdoh recipes that you know of? One that will harden well? here’s a recipe i found but i’m not sure if it’ll work….

So my mom has a recipe for play doh that doesn’t require cooking. Its so EASY! I’m making it for a demonstration speech in speech class.

Here’s the recipe:

3cups four
1/3 cup salt
2tbsp oil (veg)
1cup water
7 drops food coloring.

mix dry ingredients with oil. add food coloring to water and mix together. add water to flour/salt/oil mixture slowly~about 1/4 cup at a time and mix together with a spoon. once you’ve added all the water, knead the dough with your hands.

Thank you so much!!!
