I’m looking for a no cook playdough recipe that doesn’t need to be made with boiling water so I can use it in my classroom. I used to have one, but can’t find it. The ingredients were flour, oil, salt, water and creme of tartar but I can’t remember the quantities.

PostHeaderIcon Do I have to use cream of tartar to make play-doh?

I needa make playdoh for my project, and I want to make the playdoh that requires the boiling water and all that, but if I dont use cream of tartar then will it really make a difference? the recipe im going to use is this one:
2 cups of plain flour
4 tablespoons of ‘cream of tartar’
2 tablespoons of cooking oil
1 cup of salt
2 cups of boiling water

Do I really have to add cream of tartar? if so, then what does it do?
