PostHeaderIcon what type of material should I use in order to make a brain model?

So you see, science fair is comming up & my friend and I were wanting to make models of the brain as it ages. (So, 4 models all together, the infant, child, adult and elderly brain)

We were wanting to make the models about the exact shape of real life brains. We also wanted to colour code the sections of the brain.

However, here is the problem. Modelling clay is far too expensive. A packet of 8 colours (each strip only about 7 cm in hight.) for . AND WE HAVE TO MAKE 4 BRAINS?? It would cost to much.

So I was thinking of making homemade playdoh, as it would be cheap and easy. + we can make our own colours. Although, my friend thinks that it would take too long to dry and would probably crumble and crack as it drys.

SO this is the question, what type of material would be best to make our brain models out of?
and is it possible to make it at home? but be able to dry perfectly?
+oh and would playdoh be a good idea??

thank you guys so much, it is really appreciated :) We are desperate >.<

PostHeaderIcon how do you make play doh soft again?

add one drop of water at a time, working it in, I would use a bowl under it to keep it from making a mess, if you up too much water, on the other hand, what happens if it’s too moist? oh yeah, let it dry again…derrr
